It’s no secret that trying to maintain a home, work, and spend quality time with your child is a tough load to balance. There are times when you feel like part of the triad is seriously falling behind. It’s especially tough for us parents when we feel that we haven’t spent enough time with our little ones. Believe it or not, there are some productive things we can do around the house with our kiddos.
Cooking is a great activity to try with your babes. Not only are you spending time with them, they are learning about food groups, measurements, and the effort that goes into preparing a meal. Most importantly, cooking is a life skill that will last them a lifetime. There’s no better way to bond than over a full tummy!
Do the Laundry
This may seem like a tough one for most parents. Toddlers seem to be walking demolition zones at times. However, matching socks or folding towels are great ways to incorporate your child into your laundry routine.
Make the Grocery List
Most parents take a moment to form a grocery list. This would be an awesome opportunity to hear from your tot. Making the grocery list together is a great way to hear their favorite snacks and silly requests, as well as teach them valuable lessons about nutrition. This way, you spend some time with little one and check one chore off the list.
Exercise tends to get pushed to the side in the middle of life’s hustle and bustle. If you’re accustomed to a quick circuit each day, this would be another great way to include your child. While they may not be able to do burpees or mountain climbers, they can definitely try jumping jacks and running in place. If you choose to incorporate exercise into your routine, it’s a good time to spend time with your kids. There are sure to be lots of giggles and smiles on their cute faces!
