Schedule, schedule, schedule!
Should we say it again?! For a working mom with kiddos, a schedule is everything. It allows you to keep your work time separate from your mommy time. The most important part to scheduling your time, is sticking to it.
It can be seriously tough to close the laptop or turn off the phone when you know there is so much left to be done. However, your sweet babies will be so happy that you did!
Leave work at work.
Don’t bring your office drama home. It’s very important to define distinct lines between your work life and your home life. For example, don’t continue ranting about how horrible your boss is during playtime with your children.
While your kids may not understand the situation, they will absolutely understand your anger and frustration. Your home should be a place of refuge and comfort for you and your kids. It’s easier to keep it that way when leaving work at work.
Make an effort.
Sometimes we are overwhelmed by the house chores and monotonous duties that motherhood throws our way. Sometimes we just want to sleep for 24 straight hours and eat pizza in bed. That is okay! Moms need some me-time!
However, it is so important that we also make an effort to spend time with our kids each day. No schedule or fine line can actually make us super moms. We have to make that choice. Whether it’s reading together before bed or an intense game of peek-a-boo before work, it’s the small moments of bonding that connect us to our children.
Don’t let being busy keep you from being the super mom you aspire to be! With a little structure and a whole lot of motivation, you can be both a working mom, and a super mom in no time.
